Lookin For A Loc Buddy In Texas

So, I know there's got to be a good number of Texas loc'ers out there. I see you guys all the time in stores and in other places, but I've always been too shy to say anything.

To remedy my lack of loced friends in the Metroplex and Texas in general, I figured that I'd reach out to you lovely people.

And hey, if you just want a loc buddy that's only 4 weeks into the process, then give me a shout!

Hey hows it going for you? Well you seem to be much further than me, I havent even started yet! I want to start locing my hair but I want to make sure I have all the right products first, for twisting, cleaning ect. I can be you buddy if you want. Are you seeing a loctician or are you doing it on your own. What products are you using now, where did you get them, and what did you use to start? Have you ever heard of a lint-free cloth? Id like to get one of those to cover my head at night so I dont have lint buildup. I know alot of questions, I just dont want to start this and realise I need something I dont have lol.

Hey Guys!! I'm in the metroplex too!!! I have latched locs. I have been locing since August of last year!!! Good to see some Texans on here. How is the process going for both of you?

Heeeey! It's good to know there's other locers in the metroplex. I'm out in Plano, and it's pretty rare to see them.

The process is going smoothly for me and my fiance so far. Good times are had! You should post pics of your locs.

Hi ladies. Another soon to be newbie here. I am having my locs started tomorrow morning. I'm in McKinney. The salon that I'm going to is in Plano (121 & Preston). I've been lurking at the board and some fotki albums to get ideas and inspiration.

Welcome PTB!!! Glad you are going on the loc journey. What salon is on Preston and 121? Is it a natural hair salon? I'm going to my loctician and will post some pics soon

Hello, I'm Munch in Austin, Texas and I've recently made the decision to loc. I have an appt. August 1st with a natural "loctician" here in ATX and I'm very excited and even more scared! Please be my buddies and help me through this time. If I can just make it to the chair I know I will be alright. I need guidance as how to prepare for bringing my locs home, etc. Please help. *looking for a hand to hold* :blush:

Uh Method? :unsure: I'm not sure about the methods of locking or what this stylist will be using. I suppose I should call and talk more indepth with her about this? Suggestions? Thank you so much for you excitement and insight. I'm looking forward to this new journey in my life.
