    Hi everyone!

I just bought some Hair Vitamins yesterday at GNC called Ultra Nourish Hair Vitamins to keep my hair healthy and try to get more length and thickness out of my hair. Of course, I am natural....my texture is very curly and wavy. I got my hair pressed out about a month and a half ago, and I thought my hair would've been longer than what it was. I would love to have more length so that when I do wear it curly or even when I very seldom wear it straight, it will have more length. Have any of you tried the Ultra Nourish Hair Vitamins? If so, did they work for you, and if not, what vitamins would you recommend?

I've never tried 'hair vitamins', but any vitamin would probably do the job. They will supplement your diet, so you'll be heathier, thus making your hair healthier. But keep in mind, everyone's hair grows at a different rate. Some slower than others some faster. Just like thickness. It depends on l how many follicles you naturally have on your scalp. Meaning if you were born with less, your hair will look healthier if you have all your vitamins and minerals in a row and you're taking care of your hair. (Stop PRESSING it.) But the vitamins won't work miracles.

Now that aside, you can probably get the same results from a regular multi vitamin like Centrum or One A Day, as you would from a special vitamin.

^^IA..if you want to check out some other vitamins, look through the Health and Beauty forum as there's a few threads on Biotin and MSM (there's also one in the homemade products forum I think) supplements that several others have tried. Also up your water intake if you don't drink lots already. I know we hear it all the time, but trust me it helps. About a month ago I started taking a daily multivitamin and drinking about 2 liters of water a day, and I definitely noticed a growth spurt. I wasn't aiming for my hair to grow, so it was a bonus that it did. The healthier you are on the inside, your hair will follow suit

I take multivitamins and biotin daily. I haven't noticed much growth, but I don't check often either.

I use to take these pills. I've noticed faster hair growth taking the Silicia Alta pills and using Mega-Tek Rebuilder conditioner.

I was on the GNC Nourishair for about 4 months and it made my new growth softer and stronger but not faster growth.

    Now I take a vegan multi-vitamin, B100, & flaxseed pills daily.

I was taking hair, skin and nails vitamins about two years ago when i was a permie, but havent taken them since becomming natural. I am going to start taking them again, because as I stated in another post, i have had the same dreams about not achieving length and I am freaking out.

i've heard about biotin being good for hair and stuff
wouldnt regular multi-vitamins work just fine?
or do the vitamins that are specifically aimed at hair health have more of certain vitamins in them than the one a days?

I only started taking my multivitamin recently, and I think it works fine. It has a bunch of different vitamins in it, including biotin, but only 10% worth. If you're taking a biotin supplement, then of course the dose is greater. Do a little research before you try straight up biotin (or really any vitamins) as of course everyone's body reacts differently, and some reactions are not so much fun.

i take my regular multivitamin - centrum, with some fish oils and flaxseed oil. the flaxseed is supposed to b really good for hair...but i take them so on and off that i really cant say if they've made a difference. at least all of them have additional overall health benefits so i guess they're worth it anyways
