Let Me Introduce Myself

Hey everybody!
I can't tell you all how happy I was once I found this site the other day. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was uplifted when finding nappturality.
Growing up in a Southern Creole family was definitely an experience. My mother relaxed my hair ever since I could remember. I've tried over the years to go natural a couple times but my determination would only last a couple months and then I would fall back into the relaxing habit.
In June this year I made the decision to stop for good. I'm tired of conforming and feeling ashamed of my beautiful hair. I went home after a long day at work and started chopping off every little fried strand that I could find. Fortunate for me I let my hair grow out for a bit before I decided to do this, so there was about an inch of unrelaxed hair at the roots. And I have been rockin the curls since then. I was cruising the internet the other day looking for info on locs and found this website and looked at hundreds of picutres and read posts and I just felt so inspired. I plan to start my loc journey in November and I'm sure I will find lots of support here.
