    Okay.. lemme see... :rolleyes

    1. Eat well and exercise! Drink plenty of water. Be careful of what you put into your body and what you expose your body to. I don't think people realize just how important this one is. If eyes are the windows to the soul, then natural hair tells all yo' bidness! :coffee

    2. Get a good conditioner.

    3. Tie it down at night! It really makes a difference!

    4. Give it a chance to do it's own thing more often. Believe it or not, Nature does have a clue.

Although I don't have locs I love this one. It goes for natural hair in general.

    1. Keep them clean/wet them often (let's not be afraid of water, people!).
    2. Don't overtwist.
    3. Cover 'em up before bed.
    4. Keep them moisturized, but don't load them down with too much junk--esp. in the beginning stages.
    5. Get rid of negative energy. I am trying to work on this one my dang self!

I just thought of another one. Avoid heavy loc jewelry. Stretches out the root.

Why do you cover your hair at night?? Is it for lint? I use a satin pillow case and there is no lint. So why are you covering the hair? Please let me know...

    1. Rinse hair every morning with water:
Hair love it and it feels great! Great most natural moisturizer. Especially after many years of perming my hair, i was deprived of it.

    2.Olive, Jojoba and Coconut oils:
Olive oil as a moisturizer. Jojoba oil to fight bateria etc.. &
Coconut oil is the only oil that is the closest to be like the sebum of human hair.

    3.EO:
Essential oils is great to add in spritz. I like Tea tree, stimulate scalp and fresh tangly feeling. Rosewood nice smell. Rosemary for growth etc... as you please and like.

    4.Latchook and Twisting:
I use the "Nappyloc" tool to tighten the locs at the root. It's great because i was able to wash hair from day one (started with braids). Twisting with aloe vera or light gel (Le Kair gel as no alcohol) in between lacthook maintenances, give an uniform look and helps not over twisting or latching to close to the roots.

    5.Support group and hair album:
Group like Nappturality help you remember that you are not alone. You can ask questions etc...
Hair album helps others that need inspiration like i needed at the beginning before becoming naptural and after. Helps see your progress.

    And much more of course...

    1. give them a rest (i.e., don't style/manipulate them too often)
    2. don't feel as if you have to condition them but do keep them moisturized
    3. if the scalp itches, deal with it by shampooing and/or thoroughly massaging your scalp (too many ppl think this is a characteristic of locs. it doesn't have to be)
    4. use a mininal amount of products
    5. nappturality.com's loc forum
the kinks, frizz, and fuzz normally considered flaws in other hair types are characteristic of nappy hair. its texture tends to make it individual, versatile and more richly beautiful than most non-nappy hair types and enhances the beauty of its napptural wearer.

if YOU don't love your hair unconditionally, why should anybody else?

    1. Keep them clean.

    2. Keep them moisterized

    3. Don't let just anyone put their hands in them.

    4. Some days just leave alone

    5. Tie them up with silk or satin at bedtime or if you come into contact with dirt or dust.
