    Default Can't decide

Special event florist (wedding, banquets, etc.) OR Black art/purses/calendars, etc. I'm not sure of which direction to go right now. I have experience with both, just need to sit down and weigh out the pros and cons.

I'm not a business start-up expert, but I can at least give you a few questions to begin with:

    * What products will you sell and where will they come from?

    * What will make these products stand out from the competition?

    * How strong is the demand for these products?

    * What does the competition look like & how will you compete?

    * How will you market online? You own website? Someone else's?

    * Do you have enough start-up capital?

Ok, let me stop. I could go on forever. Try this: go to www.SCORE.org and look at their resources. I believe you can download the format for a business plan, which will contain these types of questions and many others.

I help launch nonprofit agencies, rather than for-profit businesses. Some of the principles are similar, though; so if I can help you, holla.

    Cheers,

    Hi MochaWriter,

Have you completed any Media Kits in the past?

    Thanks!

Does anyone know of any hair supply store owners and how to get in touch with them (preferably black owned)? I am also trying to find out how to approach businesses such as Carol's Daughter, NOW, etc to be able to purchase their products for retail sale. I have already gone through the process of getting my sales/business license, EIN #, registering a fictitious name, going to visit my local SCORE rep, etc.

If anyone has ANY info that I can use please PM me. I am also interested in getting sample products and promoting other small black business owners. If you're one of them and would like to talk business, please let me know.

Have either of you considered selling your products via Etsy?:

I run a website focusing on wedding candle decor. I write articles, DIY instructions, have an inspiration gallery, and sell candle products as an affiliate. I am also an administrator of several social network groups as well. I am also developing another site where I will sell incense, oils, and accessories.
