The day I last posted in this thread was the last day in which he acted anything close to normal. After that he went dramatically downhill: He stopped eating and drinking completely, stumbled around whenever he was able to get on his feet at all, and cried when I touched him. The following week I took him to the vet for observation. By the end of the day, and based on the vet's advice and my own feelings, I decided he should be put to sleep. They gave me plenty of time with him beforehand, and I was there when the vet gave him the injections. He went very peacefully.
One more time, thank you all for your advice and kind wishes. He was my dear friend for 15 years and I miss him very much.Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!
