    Question Combining locs

I have 8-month old locs. I recently combined 4 thinner ones on the very top of my head into 2. Basically I just two strand twisted them together. I was reading another thread about someone combining locs and cutting the weaker one. I'm not sure I like the sound of that for myself.

My question is: will the two locs mesh all the way down to the ends eventually if left alone? Does anyone who maintains by palm rolling have pictures of a combined loc that has meshed together? I'm just curious to see what these locs might look like later on.

Some of my combined locks meshed together all the way to the bottom, some of them are just meshed together halfway down. and some are only meshed at the top... so I guess it depends on the loc.

My combined locs usually don't mesh all the way down. I end up with a 2 headed dragon. Sometimes I will cut one of the 'heads' but most of the time I leave them alone. I saw on youtube where one loc wearer sews her locs together so they will mesh. She two strand twists them like you mentioned and then she uses a thread and needle to sew them together to keep from coming unraveled. I thought about trying that but I haven't yet. I think it's a matter of personal preference.
loc'd since 5/03 and lovin it!

One of them, maybe two, meshed completely so that where once there were two locs, there's now one. The ones in the back are meshed halfway. The ones on the side only near the root. The most recent one so far only at the root.

I combined a weak lock to a stronger one by latching it into the root of the stronger loc. I have a two headed dragon now and I'm in love with it. The part that I latched grew together and I think it looks fine.

I have 4yr old trees of 2-4 branches all over my head. I love the fulness they give as a singular unit. It's kewl to see where I combined them yrs ago, now at the END of my lock, and not the beginning. It helps to truely see how much your hair has grown!

You don't HAVE to cut...I think its a personal preference thing.

I've sewn several of my thin locs w/black thread. It's the quick easy way of combining locs.

I just twisted (two strand twisted) mine together, palm rolled and let time do their thing (let nature take over). Mine eventually became one and you can't tell that they were ever two.

I also just twist the root of the two that I want to combine. I'm like most, where 1 or 2 have meshed to the end. But most of them are just two-headed dragons. I don't plan to sew them together at the end. I only have about 5 they are combined. Now if I ever do a full head combine, so that all of my locs are thicker/larger, I will definitely sew them together.
