I wish I saw this a few months ago. I started locking with shoulder length 2 strand twists jan 2011. In dealing w/ many changes, and having a hard time managing on my own, I took them down in march. I miss them soooo much! I'm ready to start the journey. My last loc buddy gave in after 9 months and took hers down. Maybe I need a loc mentor in addition to a buddy.

Not sure if there is still much activity in the forums, but I was an active member some time ago beginning in around 2009'ish and now I'm back!

Have been natural since 2009. I just started my loc journey just about 4 weeks ago with TST's with no exact parting; basically a grab and twist and finger parted with some semi-ordinance lol. I didn't want scalp showing and it worked perfectly for me. My hair is between 8-10" in length and I am mostly a 3c hair type with a lot of hair! I have since undone and divided a few to make them a little smaller after a few washes. So far I rather like the fuzzies and fluffiness. Love this post and all the comments!!

Same -- I was active back in 2010-2013 when my locs were forming. I didn't see much activity in the threads now but i lurk here from time to time to remember where I'm coming form. Hows the new loc journey?
