Have you tried washing with a stocking cap. Or using ayuredic herbs (ie alma, shikaki, neem,etc...)..You can make a herbal rinse with them, pour over your head and let it sit for 30 min-1 hr and rinse out. These herbs are known for cleaning the hair.
If I say napptural and you say natural, we're talking about the same thing-differently. But if I say natural and you say re.laxer, then one of us is f*ckin wrong.

I was going to suggest "popping" as well. Sounds like a good idea unless you would prefer to latch. There is a pinned section at the top of the forum that talks about latching and there is one that says something on the lines of "A Must Read For New Lockers". Finger through that information and it may help. Also, do a search on the site. You'll probably get more information then you need regarding latching. Good luck.

ETA: Yep, "popping" simply means to separate. It's called that (I believe) due to the sound your hair makes when you separate.
    Thank you, Jah!!!! Thank you!!!!

I updated my picture album here on NP ya'll. Year 4! What a blessing to be a loc sistah!

I wash my hair about every 12-13 days and I hardly retwist. I'm only in my second month though. I think you may have to latch if you ALWAYS want to see your scalp.
...and I finally learned to love me.

my goal is to be able to work out as much as i want and wash as often as i need. I am a swimmer, aerobics instructor and a Mom, so be able to wash my hair often is my standard of cleanliness and also its relaxing. I could care less about seeing my scalp, i just want it to be clean without the reprocussions of tangled matted new growth.

Also i have seborhic dermatitis of the scalp, so this may be the way for me. I have twisted for 1 year and half, never likd using products, they are just an irritant. So...decisions, decisions, decisions.

    Thanks for all the comments.

    Hi
I latch, only do it occasionally but each time I wash, I twist and tidy the front. Makes it look neater, doesn't take too long and I don't worry about the back. My back hair is not as fuzzy as the front. Twisting doesn't hold in my hair after washing so latching works better for me. I wash twice a week.
