I'm pretty active; work out pretty much every day; I wash my hair every 7-10 days. During the warmer months, I'm a stickler for washing every 7 days! I've been loced going on 2 years (May).

Slightly damp hair (but freshly washed and smelling yummy) during the day is more appealing to me than leaving the sweat on my scalp. This is one reason my relaxers and press n curls were always doomed...I need to wash my hair often.

Plus I hate thinking that my hubby has to smell all of that stuff when he's snuggling. Just one of my OC tendencies I suppose.

As my hair gets longer, I do see where I might need to run the blow dryer over it. I've tried a couple of times on the cool setting but felt like it made my hair crunchy. I may need to add more EVOO or something if I use the blow dryer.

    ~best wishes~

Mine are still young I guess at 19 months and not thick so they haven't taken a really long time to dry in the winter months. I use the ShamWow towels which really seem to do a better job than a towel of removing the excess water out of my my locs. Thanks a bunch to whomever put that out there.

My locs love the water, the hair is much softer and my scalp requires the very frequent cleaning. Now that it's spring and all this tree pollen is falling I've been washing everyday because I am outside for a good portion of the day and it's too warm for me to wear a hat or scarf.

Once a week in the summer; every two weeks in the winter. Locs are mid-back to the waistband...

My routine is similar (when we have a summer ) - locs are brastrap length.

I started locking 2 years ago. I wash once every 2 weeks. Hopefully, the upcoming summer I will be able to wash every week.
Locks started on April 23rd 2010.
