I have been coloring my locks for over a year now and I have always used textures and tones colors. I went to buy a kit today and the woman at Sally told me they discontinued it. I guessing she means that Sally is no longer selling it and Sally is the only beauty supply in 30 miles. I picked up a box of Dark and Lovely in Red Hot Red, but am leery about trying a new brand.

Amyone have experience with this product line?

    THanks in advance

I just recently used Dark & Lovely color in rich auburn because it was on sale at Sally's. I usually use Cream of Nature color but the Dark & Lovely did fine. I like the color, it was actually what I was going for. I assume yours should do fine.

When it comes to coloring your hair you have to know your base color and the base color of the color you are putting in your hair. Most box colors will tell you buy the name what the base color which in this case is RED.

VONSHAIR- your base color must be yellow so when you put that RED in your hair....... basic color mixing which we learned in Kindergarten

    RED(color of kit)+YELLOW(your hairs base color)=ORANGE

If you ever get a color that turnes out ORANGE try putting in a color that has a base of PURPLE that will help tone out the ORANGE. THis will work even for those that are going blonde if you get that orangey blonde get a blonde color with a purple base.

It's been a long times since I did hair so I don't remember everything but that is one of the basics for hair coloring.

Hope it comes out ok for you zeta

and by the way I use to only use dark and lovely color and NEVER had any trouble with it. This last time I use a different name brand and I DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. So I will be going back to dark and lovely.

This is very interesting reading bc I want to color my locs really bad right now, I just have to wait until they mature though. I want to color to add a little drama along with coloring those gray strands. Thanks for the info everyone bc when it is time, I will be ready.

Hi Vonshair, what is the pw to your album?

    Thanks
