Natural Hair Dye
I love my natural hair but I am thinking of playing with some color while it's short. I accidentally found out that there are "natural" hair dyes. It sounds legit but I am still confused at how it is possible. I am curious if any of you have ever used a natural hair dye and how you felt about it. Anyone?

I was wondering the same thing too. Anyone?

The only truly natural - as in no chemicals - hairdye I know would be henna. It's just the pulverized leaves of a bush that grows in the desert. There's a pretty good amount of information about henna here in the homemade products forum. Good luck.

henna,
coffee
cinnamon,
and honey.
that's the only ones i've heard until today.
i want to try the coffee rinse but i dunno.
the only reason that i don't want to use henna is that if you use it, you will never be able to use a permanent color (like dark&lovely hair color for example) your hair can turn green(i know a girl her hair turns green and i've read this info also on boards).
hibiscus also color your hair.
just think you have to use it a few times before seeing results. i don't think they are immediat.:)

About 6+ years ago I used to use Suyra but didn't like all the DEA, acrylates, glycol, mineral oil, etc, that were in the ingredients list it left my hair very hard, so I switched & use herbs instead.
You could also try Organic Blue Malva herb - As a natural mild emollient hair dye for those with dark hair. and Organic Hibiscus herb - The crushed dried flowers are used as a hair dye as each Hibiscus flower yields a natural dark purplish dye which may be used to colour premature grey hairs.

I use pure henna and then add what I like to it. Nothing but plants parts in it that I sift out myself. My babysitter brings it back with her from her village in Morocco. You can also check at Indian stores as well. Get the body-art quality if you can find it.
