    I don't miss:
    1) the money WASTED
    2) the time WASTED
    3) sacrificing my lovely natural hair to "fit in"
    4) being afraid my hair would break off if i didn't put a chemical in it at exactly every 8 weeks (huh?)
    5) the thick, greasy, waxey (not a word, i know lol), hair cremes that could clog a volcano

That right there is the truth. I have no issues about my hair getting wet anymore!

    For me, it was

    *The cost
*How thin and lifeless it left my hair; I had absolutely no volume.
    *The lack of styling versatility.
*Hair everywhere and I do mean EVERYWHERE.
*Constant, unrelenting breakage. Sometimes down to the scalp over large areas. While I still have to contend with breakage with natural hair, it's nowhere near what I experienced on a regular basis with a relaxer. Additionally, nappy hair and hair styles are incredibly forgiving in that regard. For the most part, unless I point it out, no one can see my breakage but me.
*Perpetually, shorter hair. Although my hair currently doesn't want to grow much longer very well, as a natural, my hair has easily doubled its relaxed and even press n curl length.

-"having" to get my hair done
    -breakage
-the cold feel of the relaxer as it was applied
-greasing my entire scalp with Vaseline the night before to help prevent burning
-the scalp irritation (constant, not just right after a perm)
    -not being able to scratch
    -wasting time in the salon
    -the limp hair
-being bored with my hair, it always looked the same

Oh my stars I forgot about the curling iron burns. Once, I was wearing my hair really, really short and in spots I had to use a curling iron that had a barrel the size of a pencil.

It was some contraption my mother had, very old fashioned. I was trying to curl my hair in the front. Well the dang thing jumped out of my hand with some hair still stuck in the barrel.

But before I could get a grip on it, the barrell was laying across my face.

It left a very bad scar that took for ever to go away.

And yes, some folks had the nerve to call me "Scar Face" for awhile.

Being on the trick side of an epic hustle.
    - I believe it can and will be happening again, but that was a terrible one.
Looking for answers while my emotions were in question.
    - That sucked, but I don't have any new scars. Yay!
    Humiliating myself so randomly.
    - That was new. I'm usually chasing perspective, but I ran into it follicle first that go 'round.
