Can two-strand twists damage your hair???

I agree the fine strands get tangled and my hair is long on the sides and the back. I can't leave it in longer than 2 months...plus I have gray and do a natural color when I take down. How often do you wash it?

I too have been wearing twist as a protective style for the past 6 months or so with the hopes of growing out my hair, but I'm not happy with the results. Knots knots knots and breakage breakage breakage. I know moisture wasnt the issue. I came to the conclusion that I was leaving them in too long, 2 weeks or more, which apparently was long enough for my hair to start trying to lock... Now im taking a break from my twist and jumping on the wash n go bandwagon haha... I can't wait to see if this low manipulation improves the thickness and eveness of my hair...

Yep I totally agree. When they are in to long you will get knots. I don't have that problem. I keep mine in for at least a month. I have mini twists. I love it!

I love the look and convenience of twists, it’s one of my main hairstyles that I wear. I keep them in for a week or so, sometimes a little longer. I don’t experience any tangles or knots when I wear them, as long as I moisturize them often and are careful during the take down process.
