I wouldn't say shorter was necessarily easier, but it's definitely less time consuming. My method hasn't really changed it just takes a lot longer to do it.
My thanks and appreciation go to the lovely one who PANKED me!

Definitely shorter hair. I abhor detangling session now

I say shorter hair is easier. As its easier to distribute product and get round to the back. My hair tangles at the ends and the roots. So i start detangling from the end and make my way up to the roots the longer the hair the more you have to work.
However my hair doesnt get tangled up any worse its just the length of time it takes to detangle that makes it harder

Longer hair has been eaiser to detangle for me than short hair, by far. The only time my hair was easy to detangle was for about a good 3 months after my big chop. Then when it got to be about 2.5 inches of hair until almost APL it was more challenging because shorter hair means I've got to twist and turn to get at it. Longer hair for me is easier all around.

Very limited experience here but . . . I found short hair very easy to detangle, medium length (aka in between length) difficult and once I passed that stage, longer hair was easier to detangle. This was years and years and years ago when I had a lot more time on my hands anyway. Not sure how it would be now . . .

It takes longer with longer hair. I use my denman brush to detangle my hair with a leave in condish and shea. I don't have problems with it and it's not hard it just takes more time because you have to put it in sections to detangle. I spend a lot of time on my hair because I want it to look good and I enjoy doing it.

I think shorter hair like a twa is easy to detangle and that longer hair, say 8+ would be easier as well b/c you can actually put your hair into sections and detangle that way! I currently have a little over 7inches of hair and it's a pain to detangle b/c it's not long enough to twist into sections for detangling =[

For me, longer hair is easier to detangle. My hair could never be finger combed effectively. No matter how short my hair was I could never comb through one section in one go, or two, or three... My hair would instantly curl and coil in upon itself. I couldn't grip it properly and keep it straight enough to twist or braid. Now that it's longer I can detangle in approx. 20 minutes.
