This story really made it around the hair boards, some people are really freaking out over this. *lol*
They are free to do whatever they want with their hair, they are not representatives for the natural community, no one is.

There weren't representatives for the natural community, but they were representin' for the natural community. Some people's reactions to celebrities' hair choices do make me , but I must admit, India Arie stuck a pin in my heart when she cut off all of her gorgeous natural hair .

I learnt years ago to never let myself use celebs as idols and role models. So many sell out, become hypocites, or shown themselves to be just average humans who excel at what they do. Regardless, I still like Scott's and Hill's music

My hair inspiration was actually National Geographic pics of Africans with the most gorgeous hair of natural hair, locs, and twists. hehe

thanks for sharing! it's hard when many of us use others as examples to follow and sources of strength, then the rug gets pulled out from under you. thats when its necessary to become the cause for the next following behind you and do it your way!

Yeah, I say more power to 'em for whatever they want to do...it's just hair. If anything, the fact that they're willing to switch between natural and straight looks might prove that they're over this whole hair thing. Kind of like saying, "Well afro-textured hair is good and straight hair is good and everything in between is good, so I'll just do what I want when I want." *shrugs* But I still understand how it can be disappointing.

to each his/her own. I wish more ententainers would go natural but I'm sure they have their reasons. Maybe if more and more of us continue to go natural they will come back. Either way....I'm happy with my natural hair and no one will make me think differently.
