What are you 4b/4c's using on your hair?
Hello All!
I am well into my 2nd month of being au naturale and am having trouble finding products that work for me.....I am currently about to start a daily no-poo routine for winter and am looking for recommendations on what to use as a moisturizer and sealant for my hair. Also a good deep conditioner (commercial or homemade) to use weekly. My hair is a 4b/4c!!!BC'd: July 20, 2010

I don't know exactly what my hair type is, bt Ik its 4-something.
Leave-in conditioners help me tremendously with holding in moisture. I add olive oil to my co-wash conditioner..and that helps too
shea butter, castor oil works for me too. to sum it up, my hair likes heavy moisturizers.
jojoba oil and coconut oil are the only light oils that I used, that serve purpose.

My hair is 4c. It was very dry and was always shedding until I decided to condition my hair every morning. I mixed tresemme (spelling may be off) for damage hair conditioner with some castor oil and olive oil...wham instant well moisturized hair. The only drawback is that my hair is very greasy to the touch..but hey my hair is not shedding all over the place..oh qhemet biologics products are very good for my hair type..especially the AOHC.

I use shea butter, coconut oil, water and glycerin whipped together now.
When the weather gets colder I'm trading the coconut oil and glycerin in for castor oil. I also DC weekly with coconut milk and honey.

I have combination hair and I use Castle Soap (Whole Foods) as a shampoo. I noticed it doesn't dry my curls. Shea butter and Olive oil as conditioner, tho I mix it up a lot with other naturals like avocado, honey etc. Kinky Curly leave in detangler for my wash and go's or I put olive oil in a spray bottle with water to renew my Kinky Curly.

I use Qhement Amla and Olive Heavy Cream (Best. Product. Ever.) and Oyin Burnt Sugar Pomade. I often mix the two - the AOHC penetrates and softens my hair, the Burnt Sugar is a better sealant. Together, they are unbeatable.

Daily I use co-wash with Suave almond and shea butter and use Oyin Burnt Sugar Pomade (Love, Love, Love this stuff) with Kinky Kurly for styling.
I wash once a week and use a shea butter shampoo (don't know the name right now) and Carol's Daughters Khoret Amen Hair Smoothy (have used this a few time. Every time I use it it seems to get better and better, my hair is moisturized and smooth (as smooth as 4b hair can be )
On another day of the week I try to do a hot oil treatment with my own mix of avacado, castor oil and olive oil.
My hair is very dry and likes the heavy stuff.
