    Default Grey Hair

What to do? I really can no longer stand seeing the gray patch in the front of my head. What is the best rinse or coloring that I can use at home to cover it up, that won't cause to much damage.

Why not just leave it alone? I think gray hair is lovely.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I leave my gray patch alone as well, minus one stray that acts wiry and won't behave like the rest. It's a patch of honor and well-earned.

Consider applying henna if you don't mind the greys being colored auburn/red. Check out the commercial products section of the site to learn more about the pros, cons, application techniques, brands, where to get it, etc. Good luck.

Thumbs down Desiring to Embrace the Gray - need hair care for gray

Does anyone have any special hair care and styles appropriate for gray hair. I do not think constant coloring is healthy for hair and I do believe in "growing old gracefully". I have seen some very beautiful silver and gray styles but not sure the type of care so hair is well care for since the hair follicles are losing melanin. ANY research information is appreciated.

P.S. both spellings of grey/gray are correct.
According to Google Answers, the two words have almost the same meaning in all cases, and g-r-a-y is simply an American derivation of the original spelling g-r-e-y.

I have strands that leave my hair looking like I have grey highlights.. I really like it right now..

I would suggest changing your style to complement your new coloring.. :-) and feasting on pics of nancy wilson and other black and white haired beauties..

My bro. has a grey patch that he developed right in the front of his head.. at 32 LOLOL..

He started "rapping" (Christian rap) and his stage name is "greypatch" :-)

I say embrace the grey.. :-)

Other than that I've heard some things about sage rinse that may help cover it or reduce it some...

I am recently natural and hesitant @ coloring my gray hair-its a patch right at my hairline and that's all SO FAR. I did research online and I do remember something @ the sage treatment but never tried it. I'm not crazy @ this darned gray hair but I'm also not trying to damage my beautiful natural hair I'm cultivating. Maybe some time in the future I'll try to color it...

You can do semi-permanent rinses close to your hair color. They don't strip your hair. But they also don't adhere to grays well - the grays lose the color first.
