You go Ms. Umi strut your stuff!!!!!
I have grey hair also and I colored it intense red and the grey just glowed with reddness. I just loved it.

I'm using Naturtint, which is temporary color. You can get it at Whole Foods and other natural food locations or online. I have no damage from the product. It lasts about 3 months.
I also went to a natural hair stylist to have a semi-permanent color applied to my hair. This also was gentle, and lasted longer, but it cost around $70. I think she used EcoColors.

I am not ready for gray hair yet so I pluck mine every chance I get. Plucking creates more seems like. And is it me or does gray hair grow faster than the other hairs? I mean I pluck the hair it grows to be 3 inches long the next month! I hate them because it looks like lent in my hair! #IJS @NappyNelle Ohhhh Grandma Umi is stunning too!

henna. You can mix it with indigo for a dark brown/black effect if you dont want the red. I'm not giving into my gray until it eats my head.

Funny this was bumped up...just the other day I noticed that the very last hair at the very edge of my edge of my "sideburn" is gray (actually it's white). Because of its color it looks like it's separate from the rest of my hair and for about 5 seconds I thought about plucking it...but then I stopped and said, "Let me see what it does."

I have the occasional beard hair that I pluck when I see it...if this little white hair is another attempt at a beard coming in, THEN I'll pluck it. If not, I'll leave it alone. I'm still looking forward to having an entire head of silver-white hair.
Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!

imagine how oprah would look if she stopped coloring her hair:

i'm all for coloring gray hair but haven't done it yet myself.
i have quite a bit of it in the front and lightly sprinkled elsewhere.
i'm glad this thread came up so now i have some options.

    Here's my 2 cents...

I color my grey because it isn't all grey--which I think looks fabulous. Just the hair from the front of my head to my ears is grey, and while I can appreciate it on someone else, I just don't like it on me. For me, I prefer for all of it to be grey or none of it.

I use HerbaTint because it has been gentle enough to my hair (it's plant-based color), and covers the grey completely. The other plus is that I do have allergies (hayfever with extremely teary eyes), and this is the only hair color that I have used that doesn't make my eyes tear from the fumes. (I went to a salon and let them use a different brand of color on my locs...my hair was fine, but my eyes teared until the next day because they were so irritated from the fumes.) Lastly, my grey hairs are resistant...if I intend to color them, it has to be permanent color. It costs a bit more, but it works for me.

BTW---If my grey looked half as good as NappyNelle's Grandma Umi, I wouldn't touch it! She is truly fabulous!
