Scarf or bonnet?
I have locs and I have experienced hair loss at my temples that I suspect is from Seb Dermatitis. I currently wear a satin bonnet at night but I was wondering if a scarf would be better because it may not rub my temples. What do you think?

Neither. Just use a satin pillow case. I stopped doing either one because I did not want to make my thinning any worse.

My hair line isn't thinning but I did notice shorter hair on the right side. I believe the satin scarf is causing some friction since I tie the loose ends in front. I don't wear any tight styles. I'm switching over to a braid bonnet, moisturize and pay close attention to the problem area. It seems like a good alternative. I'll update if I notice any difference by the end of the month.

Keep more than one scarf or bonnet and keep them clean. Hair, oils, and dead skin can build-up on scarves and bonnets. I have found having more than one can help. I only handwash with my hairwash and rinse well and let completely airdry. Stay blessed and I hope this helps.

Hi. I think they are all ok. You have to find the one that works for you. You know the bonnet is not so time to eliminate that one. I avoid the bonnets with the gathering laying against my hair line. If you try bonnets again make sure you place them beneath your hair line. The satin scarves should also be tied beneath and not against the hairline . Try to ensure that your scarf is not tight enough to smash the hair all night but tight enough to prevent shifting. I cannot imagine sleeping without something for concern with oils getting on my face from my hair. If you try it and break-out go back to covering up. Blessings.
