    Default Henna hair color

I'm thinking about doing a hair color using henna. If you've used henna, can you answer these questions?

    What were the results?
    Were you happy with it?
    Was applying it difficult?
What was your hair like afterwards? (soft, dry, what?)
    How long did it last?
    How vibrant was the color?

    What were the results?
It colored my gray hairs, reduced shedding/breakage, warm auburn tint to off black hair in direct sunlight.

    Were you happy with it?
    Yes

    Was applying it difficult?
It is MESSY. Mix the henna until its like pancake or brownie mix -- smooth but NOT dripping or it will drip every where. Cover the floor and counterspace with newspapers, you can throw these in trash. Wipe any drips up immediately to prevent stains if your henna has dye released.

What was your hair like afterwards? (soft, dry, what?)
Soft, strong, requires less products. You can take steps against dryness: I pre-oil my hair, use castor oil in my henna batter and wash out with moisturizing conditioners. If hair feels dry, I deep condition for one hour (4 parts moisturizing conditioner, 1 part honey, 1 part clear aloe gel). I used amla powder and very small amount of acv to initiate dye release. I try to limit amount of acidic ingredients that increase dryness

    How long did it last?
I did it for first time in October 2010. Its supposed to be permanent but new growth will show demarcation.

    How vibrant was the color?
My gray hairs are a dark copper highlights. my off black hair has a warm auburn tint in the sun.
