Becoming natural has made me more conscious of my decisions because everything I consume or use affects something else in my body. The body is its own ecosystem, I need to keep it right.

You said it girl...I felt guilty when I wore make up now i don't... I don't get how a vegan puts a re.laxer on their head either...kind of defeats the purpose...

I gave up pork around 10 years ago been natural on and off for 7 years. Last year I made an attempt to become a vegeteran but I became extremely week and hungry after the first week, then I started to crave meat. I lost the battle but I still want to try again. I try to eat right and take care of my body but I was doing that before I cut out the perm.

as of March 1 2010 i have been detoxing. I left he red meat and pork alone. i only eat organic fruits and veggies, all seafood, turkey wings, and skinless boneless chicken breast and thighs on rare occasions, but basically i changed my entire diet, i have been in the gym for 2 years consistantly, and as of Oct 19, 2010 i decided no more perm for me. My hair was choppy lookin after my last relaxer. So of course i had to research how to maintain my natural hair when it does arrive...smdh...but since i have been researching my hair..i have noticed that i am going the natural route with maintenance as well. i will be experimenting with making my own hair care products...which me luck!! but i hope to stay away from chemicals and processed products.

I know there's this common misconception that natural hair = organic earth mother lifestyle but for most sisters I know that's not the case. That said, I could definitely stand to improve in this area, especially these days with my weight being so high and my skin not being so good...

Now that things are about to open up in my schedule I intend to get back on eating more fresh veggies, drinking more water, and working out more often and more intensely. The older I get the more I realize how important it is to not take your health for granted.
Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!

So can you have permed hair AND live a "natural" lifestyle?
