Awww...this story almost had me in tears, especially the part where the little girl wanted hair like her mommie who was permed. I'm so glad the mother chopped so that she could prove and not just say that natural hair is beautiful! Great story, thanks for sharing!!!

You're welcome I was almost in tears too and I totally understood the mothers point when she was basically like how am I going to tell my daughter to be proud of her natural hair but I am perming my hair just like the little girls at her school that are making fun of her hair. You should check out the comments below the story which I found were quite hilarious! Glad you enjoyed it!

Awwwww....I was in tears! So happy to see this! It's so important that children see how we embrace ourselves. What a great reason to do this. I love it!

Going natural is the new trend for many African-American women. We've got the story of a Florida news anchor whose process lead to a ratings increase when you read on...
I loved the story and what not but why does going natural have to be a trend? Don't trends come and go? What many of us have done and accepted is not a trend, its a life style change, a new way of thinking, a new way of hair care. Why is it when a celebrity or someone well known goes natural it's a trend and acceptable by the rest of the society? But when a regular Jane does it, she's deviating the norm

I totally agree nattynette! I heard that in the story but it kinda went over my head because I was moved by the stories. I have been hearing that going natural is a trend a lot lately and I am guessing that this is because everybody has different reasons for going natural and for some people it is because everybody else is doing it. It may be possible that the women who are doing it because they feel its a trend will continue on their journey after they feel the trend is over because hopefully by then they will have developed a real luv for their natural hair and not just becuz they want to be trendy! Hmmmm......fingers crossed

those other people want it to come across as a 'trend' to the masses so it will deter our people from going natural from a spiritual perspective, they aren't slick....

that's how 'they' do it with a slick tongue, but fools we are no more, b/c the wool has been removed now and forever one by one on a daily basis, trust !!!!
