Default Have you been a Nappy Example?

Have you inspired someone push away from the crack and embrace their natural hair? Just wondering. I know different ones have said they have people who come out and ask about their hair. How many have had people follow suit?

I have had my daughter get on board, a young lady who said she was going to go natural when she was older and didn't car about her looks (SMH on THAT) decide to jump in the area! and a few people on the sidelines that have seen my example of rocking it without fear and with style start to transition as well.

Have you inspired someone to follow your lead and are they still hanging on?

My niece is going to go nappy and loc'd because of me. She said she can see that I'm happy with my decision and she wants to do the same.

I inspired one of my doctors this past summer. I had a TWA at the time and the next time I went back she had one too!! It was a great feeling.

I've inspired my sister and my niece (her daughter) to embrace their natural hair. At the time, my niece was just starting her teenage years (she's now 16). My sister had her going religiously to the salon for r.elaxers for years, until one day she told my sister that she didn't want them anymore, she liked "Auntie L's hair" (me). I think my sister was more worried about my niece's hair appearance than my niece! She wore braids, she loved those zig-zagged cornrows ala Alicia Keys. She just wears it out now.

My sister took a while to come around & started transitioning last year. She wore wigs and lace fronts b/c she wasn't totally confident about the look. It is now "longer" to do things with it. Baby steps, but a progression, nevertheless....

Absolutely! My niece and many many other women! They said my hair looks so healthy! I'm proud of that too!

Not to my knowledge has anyone ever taken that step because of me, but I have had a lot of women compliment me, ask me how I do my hair, and they end the conversation by saying how much that want to get their hair "like that"

Can't say I've had anyone change because of me, but I get LOTS of questions and comments, or women telling me how they're going to do it!

I believe that I am the inspiration that caused my mom to chop all of her hair down to less than an inch of new growth. She'd been dead set against natural hair all before.
My sister jokes about becoming natural some day.
A coworker chopped to less than an inch of newgrowth near the end of my transition.
And now my 4yr old daughter, who once called all natural styles too fluffy or poofy and not pretty, exclaims that she wants hair like that! when she sees natural styles, including mine. =)
No credit given, but I'll take my share. lol

Two co-workers, but one slipped back. (sad) my sister came aboard and quite a few who stop me and ask me about it.
