Would you date a guy if his hair was longer than yours?

My stepbro has long, lower back length locs. Recently his girlfriend broke up with him because his hair was longer than hers. I was wondering ok she knew this before going out with him, so I guess jealousy was eating her. I dont understand it though, why your jealous about something like that? He has been growing locs for 6 years!

Hi. In the Black community, we know the old, outdated beauty standard of light skin and long hair. Unfortunately, some young women still have that mindset. They are living under oppressive thinking. They have damaged self esteem and damage self worth because of such foolishness.

It's sad really. His girlfriend could not see her own natural beauty. She was beautiful just the way she was.

Young ladies, know that you are beautiful and worthy just because you were created. Your hair, complexion, or your size doesn't matter. You are wonderful and fabulous just as your are.

Sorry, maybe it's not meant to be, but I find that pretty funny to break up over that lol!!!
She can grow her own if she really wants long *** hair.

I have dated someone with longer hair than me... it was awesome(even thou he was an idiot and teased me because of it) but it was awesome because it was back in the days i was still using that creamy crack and his hair was natural(of course, i wouldn't date a guy with unnatural hair) and soft and curly and owww it was nice to play in....

Instead of her being jealous and hating on him she should have learned to retwist and got her hands all up in his loc's lol

But seriously thou maybe their was some other issues that she didn't want to be honest with him about cuz i really don't understand why she would break up with him over that esp if his hair was longer than her's from the get go. Why start something just to end it over something that you knew from the beginning?

Long hair or short I think it was just an excuse to break up. Have you ever heard somone say they gained weight and their partner didn't like it so they broke up and then their new girl is bigger than the one before. Excuses, are not always the real reason. I've seen plenty of men with long locs date ladies with shot locs or a twa.

I'm not normally attracted to long hair on guys, but I have dated one who had hair a few inches below shoulder length and one with hair just shy of butt length. Like anything else, it had its pros and cons. I liked the freedom to play in their hair without the responsibility of caring for it all the time. But I didn't like ending up with their sheddings on my clothes and stuff. And the one with butt length hair had frequent headaches from it, which sometimes was a bother for both of us. Overall, hair wasn't a huge deal and I wouldn't break up with or stay with anyone because of it.

Yes I definitely would date a guy with longer hair than mine - as long as he meets the criteria on my list, it's all good. Funny, hair isn't on my list of things required in a man, but long hair (dreads) is a definite turn on.
