If your skin is feeling tight and dry you need to use less castor oil.

Argh. The initial awkward phase of your skin goes through when doing oil cleansing, yeah, I'm in it. I've also just been really busy, so I've got to get back to doing it regularly.

In the meantime, I'm hoping that cleaning with Noxzema which has eucalyptus oil hasn't thrown things off too much.

What I'm wondering is if people do this in the morning? I just find that evening I'm too tired and the couple of guides I've read recommend an evening cleanse. I think that's because most people head out during the day. On most days, I don't. I do my thing and work from home. I go out in the evenings to network and socialize, so I'm just really wiped out, so mornings work best for me. Anyone else oil cleanse in the mornings?

Morning and evenings. Evenings especially if I've been wearing makeup. If I can only get to it once a day that works OK too.

    Default It must be working....

@ my followup checkup today, my doctor exclaimed: "OHR, your face...it looks fabulous!!" Must be the ocm [25% castor, 75 sunflower oil]. I've been doing this twice daily since Sunday. I did have breakouts, but they've subsided. Thanks mojitochica for the tip!

I'm jumping in here. I just started doing this a few days ago using EVOO. I've been doing am and pm esp if i've been wearing makeup but this am i just splashed with water and wiped ( i saw this somewhere online). my face feels nicely moisturized.

I'm going to get some castor oil this weekend and see if that makes a difference.

My old mix was 50% castor oil/50% EVOO, but this newest bottle I've subbed the EVOO for sunflower oil. We'll see how that works, it definitely feels lighter.

I've just started the OCM after reading this thread. While I came across the OCM previously, I never got round to actually doing it as I didn't go into the why and wherefores. I 'm using a combination of coconut oil and olive oil for now as i can't seem to find caster oil in any shops/pharmacies - i there a shortage (UK) that anyone knows of?

Any how, I did it for the firts time this morning. I have over a dozen face cloths that I'm planning to use one time only before they go into a hot wash.

I've been on the OCM kick for almost 5yrs now. My go-to mix has always been 70/30 castor/EVCO

Over the summer, I started experimenting with jojoba oil, and then later grapeseed oils in place of the EVCO. Grapeseed along with Castor dries my skin out to much. Jojoba + castor has been my best mix ever so far.

It's winter so I'm back to castor/evco but next time I hit the health store I'm buying a bottle of jojoba

It should be in the laxative aisle.
