Maybe Allergic To Coconut Oil...
Hello All,
So I am almost 3 months into transitioning and it seems that I might be slightly allergic to coconut oil. I use it as a pre-shampoo/cowash treatment and as a sealant. I wanted to know what else you guys use. I'm doing some research into shea butter and castor oil, but it would be nice to know what real people use and how they use it. I am open to all advice. Thanks!

My scalp hates coconut oil and castor oil, it leaves my scalp itchy, flaky, and dry. My scalp felt like it was on fire when I put coconut oil on it.

^^^EVOO, grapeseed oil (love how it smells), castor oil, shea butter. I often mix 100% shea butter with EVOO and use it on my hair and skin and it is magic.

I want to thank you all for the advice. I don't know why I didn't do an allergy test first. D'oh! The first time I used coconut oil my scalp tingled. I thought it was weird, but no big deal. On my last wash day I did a full-on pre-poo treatment with coconut and my scalp has been flaking ALOT and my hair has been shedding a little more than normal.
I've picked up some castor oil, shea butter, and a deep conditioning treatment from my fave store (whole foods). Hopefully this will work.
