Locked in 2011!

Hey Ladies and Gents!

I'm starting my locs tonight and I'm so excited. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to go through the process again and today I was like it can't hurt! lol. So this thread is for support for all those who started/starting their locs in 2011. Oh and for veteran lockers to give us some much needed advice when we are at wits end and standing in the mirror with safety scissors ready to do a big chop because we can deal, lol.

It's also a roll call, so put you start date here and leggo (No Waka)!

isnt it sooo exciting, i was like tht before i started my journey waiting to start to loc and then the days that i see alot of loc'd heads i get extra excited and wind up having a loc dream!!! yea!!!!

What an awesome pictorial testimony. My mother experienced the same regrowth from locking after years of alopecia pattern baldnessin the crown area.

I was on my way, that area was always weak and shorter and hard to grow. Thus, my motivation to leave the chemicals. It's great to see more women 'cured' of the crack and experiencing hair growth from locking!(by the way, as a loose natural this area was even thinner and more damaged bc of the manipulation. Now, for the first time evah' my crown area is passed my shoulders.)
