Hello everyone,

I have finally took the motivation to introduce myself,

About my hair,

I have always been natural but only starting to let my hair growing out 4 years ago.

Not I had stereotypes about natural afro hair but I didn't know, how to take care of it and I am still learning.

I was mostly sporting short hair because I have always thought (actually still do) that short hair compliment really well BW features

.

Also I wanted my daughter to grow with a different mindset that women in my family and what the media tries to portray as the only way for BW to be pretty ( with straight AND long hair).

So I had to teach (show) her that BW can grow their hair and be beautiful with natural hairstyles too.

I chose to come to Nappturality becuz, it's one of few blogs out there that "truly" represents all type of afro hair and are not obsessed with curl definition and length.

Strangely enough in my quest of naturalness I have noticed that I tend to eat healthier, look for organic/natural skincare, make-up and haircare products.

Hi and welcome to the site. I agree with a lot of things you are saying. You are your child's first and lasting role model. I think some people understand that but don't take it seriously enough. Thank you for sharing this. Your picture is making me really look forward to my fourth year natural... beautiful.
