here's another recipe on how to make your own. someone told me to omit the baking soda cuz baking soda is what irritates the skin. but to each is own.

I had a bad reaction to my last concoction, I used a mix of 50/50 bicarbonate of soda to cornstarch and added sage essential oil. It actually made me blister. I used sage essential oil in my old aloe/witch hazel deodorant blend before and did not have any problems. I think the sage with the bicarbonate of soda was too strong a combination. The previous concoction was stronger (60/40 bicarbonate soda to cornstarch) and whilst it was still a little strong, it did not burn like that.

I made a batch last week and just added mostly lavender essential oil and a little tea tree oil. I erred on the side of caution and further reduced the bicarbonate of soda to cornstarch to 25/75. So far so good

Yeah that baking soda tends to be harsh. I noticed that when I reduced my baking soda and tea tree oil that I had much better results. I checked out KB's alternate recipe. I would be interested in trying that too, but I would have to order those ingredients online. I doubt that it's worth it.

Yep definitely is harsh. I think my armpits will be permanently scarred. I am slathering loads of shea butter on them morning and night so hope they will fade quite a bit in time.

My last batch I used equal amounts of shea, organic EVOO infused with calendula and organic VCO and it was just a tiny bit too soft. For this batch I added a tiny bit of cocoa butter and I love the conistency.

The calendula and lavender should help to soothe the skin and I have had no discomfort at all with this batch.

This is quite soft and pliable and easy to apply by hand. If I had one of those tubes, I would increase the cocoa butter so that it would be firmer

The stone works for me. the only time it doesn't is when i'm dehydrated. Toms and JASON didn't work for me. I tried FB. the first one i ever ordered worked. when i ordered more to stock up, i ended up w/ a rash. NOt sue what changed, but haven't used it since.

After reading this I switched to VCO to give my armpits a chance to heal. It is strange as it was 100% effective against my right armpit but not as good on my left My left armpit was the one that was burnt the most so it must be extra fussy. They are healing well and the marks will not be as bad as I feared. I actually started using my very mild deoedorant concoction yesterday and have had no problems at all so far

Sorry if y'all already answered this, but has anyone tried the Thai Crystal Deodorant Mist? I've been using it for the past 5 days and am pleased with its performance. Its dirt cheap ($6.99 8oz) and 100% natural AND you can use it on your feet!

Funk Butter is what I normally use, the shipping is killing me though
