I just dyed my hair today (less than 5 hours ago) and it is REALLY purty, but to make sure that the color was applied evenly my hair was flat ironed. After applying the color, sitting under the dryer, lifting the color, rinsing, braiding and unbraiding I noticed major shrinkage & lack of moisture absorption. I'm thinking that a mix of being under that dryer and flat ironing the hair made it coarse but even with the massive amount of conditioning and moisturizing it should have softened it up a bit. Luckily my curls are still tightly coiled but the roughness of the top part (which was colored via Clairol's lightest blonde) is NOT soft and texture-y.
