    Default Deep Conditioning Locs?

How is this done? I colored my hair and usually condition rinse for the next few days to help balance it back out. I was wondering this morning could I just deep condition my locs but how? I have done hot oil treatments before on my locs. Is that the same?

You deep condition locs the same way you do loose hair. This is the way I do a deep conditon/hot oil treatment. Apply cond/oil to my locs and put on a plastic cap. I either sit under the dryer for 15-20 mins. or I do stuff around the house for about 30 mins. Then I rinse my locs really well.

Yep. I've done it with oils and a couple of times with Aubrey Organics HSR conditioner. Just make sure to rinse rinse rinse...and rinse.

I colored my locs last weekend and I immediately used a mayonnaise and egg mixture as deep conditioner, slathered it on my locs and washed it out after an hour. My locs are okay now because i've restored the protein in my hair and they don't feel dry. Then I used a regular conditioner to get rid of the eggy smell.

I condition with vinegar and oil about 50/50. I like this because you don't see any product build up. The vinegar is liquid so it rinses right out. No staying in the shower for an extra hour just to get it out. And with the vinegar oil mix, your hair is conditioned and your scalp does not itch anymore. I condition/oil when my scalp itches. Itching means my scalp is dry not dirty.

Has anyone heard of/used the Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep conditioning Hair Mask? I just had my hair professionally dyed last week and I want to use this. Did some research and I think I may get it.

Are the products being used creamy, is there not a risk of build up?

Probably. That's prolly why they also mention how well they rinse to avoid it.

Plus if they have a clarifying regimen in place also, they are most likely fine to deep condition every now and then.

The best deep conditioner I have found that works good on my locs is coconut milk! For hot oil treatmets I use coconut oil. I cover my locs & leave this on for 1 hour. This regimen doesn't cause buildup at all. And I must say the coconut milk is actually helping my hair to loc faster!
