Why Lip Gloss??
I've never understood lip gloss. It's like some strange hybrid product.
Here's how I understand it:
Lip balm- for moisturizing and to reduce chapped lips
Lipstick-for color and beauty with some moisturizing. Can be shimmer/pearl or matte or sheer depending on formula.
To me, lip gloss just makes the lips extra shiny, wet, and sticky.
Why do you wear lip gloss over lipstick or lip balm?

Why? Because I like a little shine on my lips. I don't go crazy with the application though.

I started wearing gloss a few years ago. I just wanted to try something different and now it has replaced lipstick for me.
Love me some Revlon gloss! I don't go for the extra shiny look either, so I don't apply it extra heavy.

lip gloss=some strange hybrid product lmao, thats like the awesomest thing i've read today!
I wear lip gloss because I don't concider it to be make up, plus I like the shine and the sometimes color... I don't apply to much cause i don't want my lips to stick togetherI'm just me, beautifully!

I barely wear lipstick. I find them cakey now and I'm the girl who loved MAC's Film Noir and Media back in the day. The only one I have was a strong red that I got at a makeup sale last year. Why lipgloss? Probably because women have moved on from having the fully painted face like we used to wear, most women nowadays go for more natural looks. I was looking at Sara Ramirez' face on GA once and thought that although by today's standards she had a done face (I even thought she had a lot on for someone who works a very physically demanding branch of surgery), 15-20 ago people would have thought that she didn't have anything on. Since I have strong lips to begin with I just do gloss, my lip's sking tone adding the "tint". And I use them to balance out the strong eye looks I prefer when I go out.

I have a terrible habit (a habit I'm working to stop) of biting the skin off my bottom lip to the point in which it actually bleeds and is painful. So it makes my lip slippery so my teeth are less likely to be able to pinch and rip off the skin. Also, because it's flavored, I'm more likely to gently lick my lip instead of bite the skin off.
If not for my bad habit I wouldn't even be wearing it, but since it's something that I still can't stop doing yet, that's why I wear it.

My obsession with lip gloss began in Jr. high School - I loved that wet, just got done eating Church's Chicken look! Now that I'm an adult I still reach for gloss but prefer a smooth, creamy, long-lasting product such as Revlon's Super Lustrous gloss. It’s more like a combo of lipstick and gloss IMO. I don’t really care for traditional lipstick...if I do wear one I always topped off with gloss. When I was younger, I thought that my lips were to big to wear lipstick. I didn't want to bring attention to them because my siblings used to joke me for having full lips. As I got older, I learned to appreciate my full lips...I no longer minded the attention. I wear lipstick occasionally but, lipgloss...I'll wear that if I don't wear anything else. I have every kind by every cosmetic maker. Best one, for me, MAC Cremesheen in Loud n Lovely.
