Dry Shampoo
Recently, I discovered this dry shampoo that works well on my hair in between washings (I wash every 10 days or so). http://www.suave.com/Dry-Shampoo-Spray. Suave's Dry Shampoo is really good.
Anyone ever use this product? Are there other dry shampoos out there that folks with locs like to use?

I've never heard of it, but is there a particular reason as to why you only wash every 10 days? You could just do a good rinsing session.

At the risk of sounding like I'm explaining myself, I'll answer your question as best I can. If i'm at the gym...on the go afterwards, and don't have time to rinse and let my hair air dry since I have to go to work and live life (hair dries faster when its hot and its not hot all year round where i live), the dry shampoo soaks up the oil and leaves hair fresher until the next shampoo. While I know rinsing is good, since I've done it, it's not the cure-all for keeping hair clean. 10 is the most I go, and a 10-day cycle works for me since I style my hair a lot...when I work out a lot, I do seven...and even then, a dry shampoo in between helps. Just offering a product suggestion to anyone who may be interested.

^^^tried that as well, but I found it cumbersome to use. Ending up donating it to the homeless. For now I remains fan of rinsing, maybe when that becomes cumbersome I will try another dry shampoo

^^^ I tried it twice. It was ok but I ditched it for the regular wash. You can give a brand a try to see if it works for you. Hopefully others will respond.

I tried the dry shampoos, even plain ol cornstarch, but I could never get rid of the powder without entirely tangling my hair, so I gave it up. My head's so damn oily, I have to do a wash at least once a week, with rinses in between. Especially with as hot as it is down here, it's uncomfortable to have sweat sitting on my head. But I've heard it works really well for others.

I've used a dry shampoo called ''Hair & Scalp cleanser'' by Urban Natural Styles. It's okay, but I think nothing replaces a real shampoo with water...
Locks started on April 23rd 2010.
