length check?
How does everyone do there I see some people flat iron before or pull there curls i just lay my hair flat down and what ever it lands thats the length?

I simply check the same small chunk of hair every few months by pulling the curls down and comparing it to where it landed on my back last check. No one here is going to suggest you flat iron your hair for any reason.

Lol, you don't have to flat iron your hair for NO-ONE!
Just make sure you pull round about the same area of hair each time.

yeah you dont need to flat iron it, just pull it. or notice the difference in where your braids or twists hang.... or how far back you can pull your puff...etc

Take pictures of your hair and start a photo album on fotki or start a blog or keep them privately on your pc. Then every couple of months compare the pictures and see where you are now. You can also take a ruler and measure the same section every few months. I've been natural for almost 5 years and I have yet to use heat once in these 5 years for a length check.

Oh yeah. And make sure you're standing up straight. Don't tilt the head too far forward or back.
