    Default What Projects Are you Working on (Continued...)

    I've finally had a chance to slow down.

    The festival was a bust. Great vendors, great music, great location...no people. There wasn't even a third of the crowd there was last year. On top of all that I was suffering from a crazy migraine AND it was hot. I stayed about four hours before bailing out and based on the pictures and commentary I saw from other vendors, the crowds never quite picked up. I did make some sales so it wasn't a complete loss though. All of my amigurumi pieces sold ironically enough. I didn't know I had a migraine then but I had it since Saturday and have only just gotten over it. I had faded vision in one eye so I thought my sight was leaving me...two specialists later the diagnosis stood at a really bad migraine.

    I am working on a tablerunner for my great aunt in crochet thread. I did the daishiki and the bra top from the Get Your Crochet On book but didn't get a chance to wear those.

    In the meantime I knooked this. It gets easier the more I do it.

    Isn't he cute? I did him and the little white bear/cat type animal behind it yesterday.

    I got a bunch of scraps from Goodwill to practice sewing with.

    He IS cute. I like what I can see of the bear also. Do you have a separate picture?

    I wasn't sure if I liked him or not. I tend to make all of my amigurumi without faces. I'm working on another puppy, this time a cream with warm brown spots.

    ETA: Finished the puppy.

    My progress on my great aunt's tablerunner. 12 days to go and this has to be a little over 3 feet long...it is presently 6 inches.

    Here are some ways you can wear the crocheted flowers:

    @ahamlin-nice flowers

    @Kreative-those animals are so cute. I tried it once, but they came out lumpy.

    Those flowers are gorgeous.
    I'm experimenting more with knooking...I got bored with the pattern from the knook book I was following and figuring out how to knook in the round wasn't that difficult. I'm going to destroy this awful blue nylon/acrylic/polyester yarn I have around here in practice pieces.

    @chacha: It took 11 pieces to make that dog...if they weren't so darn cute I'd stop but I am an ear and a half away from a Dalmatian...I think I'll stick to solid colors for awhile. I am going to put pipe cleaners in the ears so they could be posed and possibly in the neck too. I think it is what you use to stuff them that contributes to lumps. When I first started I had quilt batting...that didn't do so well (lumpy and hard) but the regular polyfil (in moderation) works well for a stuffing for me. If I use too much then the lumps come...trial and error.

    I love those flowers ahmalin. I've been scrouring pattern websites trying to find flowers to crochet.

    Dalmatian. He has wire in the ears so they can be positioned to stay in place. I'm going to make a tiny fireman's hat for him (or buy a little plastic one if I can't figure out the pattern).
