I think I will have to check out the movie.
My Lala would stay by my casket but Sadie Mae she would careless LOL!! When I fell down the stairs when I was taking them for a walk and was knocked out when I came too Lala was right there licking my face and Sadie Mae was GONE!!
I never really thought about what animals go through when they lose their humans. That has got to be so sad for them. I think they understand. I think they know.

i saw this on the news the other day w/ my friend who just had to put her dog down...it was quite a touching moment and a testament to the bond between animals and their "owners"/families...

We are creations of God...why let man define us when man did not create us?

Yep, of course they know. When my mom died, Tiny was so depressed and did nothing but mope around for months. She wouldn't play, didn't even bark much, didn't want to eat or drink much of anything. She didn't even want to go outside unless she REALLY had to go #1 or #2, and even when she got back inside, she'd just go in a corner somewhere and curl up in a ball.

Saw this on the news.....broke my heart!
Reminds me of another story I heard where a man was killed in a car accident and his dog still waits for him and the front gate of his ranch to come home. The family says they have tried everything to try to get him to come with them but he just waits.
Heartbreaking!
