Thank you, BH, that's quite a compliment. My close friends and family think I'm funny. Classmates and/or work associates? It's a mixed bag to be honest. I mean, they know that I'm no dummy but I think that some of them would be more inclined to think of me as a bish than as being funny (mostly because I snicker at the dumb isht they do ).

I have nothing to add except I found this thread refreshing and it makes me realize how long I've been gone, because I don't recognize half the people, lol. I missed NP!

This is a cool thread. Maybe {since we're at page ten}, someone will create a part 2.
Also {just a suggestion} put the name of the NP member in Bold.

BUMP!!
I have a question for Tjolims. I've been watching the British TV show "Primeval."
Since you've been living in the UK for a while now, how British have you become?
Do you call your apartment a "flat?"
Do you call your friends "mates?"
Do you pronounce the word "my" as "me?"
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. -Eleanor Roosevelt

What a funny question. Last night I went out with some colleagues who informed me that I am deeply and insufferably American. I came home and called my brother who laughed because he says I "sound like an old white lady". I've probably become really British in some ways I don't notice, but for the most part I feel like I retain my American-ness. I do say things like "fiver" and "brolly", but my apartment gets visited by friends, never mind me mates' flat.
My wardrobe is extremely British now---welly boots and lots of coats, hats and scarves...I accessorize more than ever and invest in good shoes. Still not that into British food, but my alcohol tolerance is pretty high now from all those pub visits!
One thing I've noticed...I have become a ninja at using one of these...
There aren't a lot of tumble dryers in the UK and the first year or so, I had more slightly damp or horribly stiff clothes than a bit because I couldn't figure out how to use a drying rack...now I whip my washing onto one of these and carry on.

This is a nice thread. Do you want to keep going with this one or do you want me to create a new one?
