Talking Newbie here and in need of advice

I'm new here and I'm only a 15 yr old going natural alll alone xD I'm just plain African-American.. Not mixed with anything! that i know of.. so I havent had a perm since this summer and have kept my hair in braids...

AM I On THE RIGHT TRACK?? AT ALL?

That sounds perfect. Jus tmake sure that the braids aren't damaging your hair and that you're keeping your hair well moisturized. I haven't had braids on in a few years but I know it's a good protective style. I've been transitioning for 8 months now and I just do braid outs to survive. Best of luck hun

You impress me by going napptural at such an early age. I wish I did. I do applaud you and take my hat off to you in respect.
I remember washing my hair when I was around 14 yers old, and combing it and think how good I looked in that big fro, but I had no idea about going napptural so I just used the hot comb again like I always did.

I transitioned from a perm to nappural for almost 18 months, and I used mainly braids. It´s easier to deal with the different textures that way.
Like SharaOlene said, keep it moisturized. Do not let anyone discourage you. I wish you all the best in your transition.

    Cool, I am too
I'm 17 and I decided to go natural around February after a major perm burn. I've been transitioning since then but I'm a bit confused when it's okay to stop braiding and start using hair products for natural hair.

I think you can start whenever you're ready, but it may be easier to use the products when you only have one texture left (after BC'ing)

When you feel comfortable with your hair/its' length, then you can take your braids out, give your hair a break, and decide to do another protective style later

    Happy Transitioning to you both
