Why is she holding a fork?
Site linked: http://hellobeautiful.com/mommy-beau...ack-kids-hair/
I just need to know why she's holding a takeout plastic fork while gripping this child's hair?
Don't click on the link to "see more"about the site. I don't think it actually exists. It goes to some sort of pop up spam.

KeshaNicole, the photo on the page you linked to is taken from a story that was discussed on NP a while ago.
The person holding the fork is the child's adoptive mother.
She's using it to help comb or style her daughter's hair. A fork has a similar structure to a hair pick. From what I can tell, that's why it's being used.Last edited by Claire76; 09-30-2011 at 06:32 PM.

The website is awesome. I picked up a technique or two from there. For instance, if I recall correctly, I started learning how to do rope twists while browsing her work. One thing she does incredibly well is changing up the parts and thusly the designs of very simple child-friendly techniques. It adds so much variety without increasing the time needed for each child's head.

It's not a women it's a white professor and his adopted (ethiopian I think) daughter. He does her hair this way which we later found out A LOT of parents use this method to part the hair. He actually does a really good job.
Here's a link to the story

^Ditto! I was like 'Maybe that's a very specifically used pick that i've never heard of. But it looks like a plastic fork.'
I think I will check out the site as I am in need of new styling arsenal. I've been contemplating a twa but some days I still like a baa!Yeah. I said it.
