    Default Need Advice!!!

I have a FRIEND who braids hair professionally. I explained to her that I wanted her to braid my hair (after 2 yrs of contemplating of getting my hair braided). I explained to her, numerous times before I let her braid my hair, how I didn't want to go to the braid shops because they braid your hair toooooo tight and I didn't want my hair braided tight. She assured me that would be no problem. Well, anywho, I was going to have an outpatient procedure done and I said, well, this would be a good time (after 2yrs of contemplating of getting my hair braided). From the first braid, it hurted. I have been to plenty of braid shops in my life, but never hurted like this. I told her, oh, no use more of my hair. She said, okay. To make a long story short, my scalp is so sore. I had to take some of the braids along the back out...But here's my dilemna, I offered to pay her and she said, no. She would do it for free (walking advertisement) She didn't charge me. She did a great, professional job on my hair. Everybody liked it, but it hurts. I want to take them all out because it's been two weeks and it has loosen up a good bit, but I can see the damage around the edges already. I see my FRIEND, at least, once a week. Since I didn't pay her, should I just take the braids out and pay her or just take the braids out and when I see don't say anything about it until she says something about it? HELP

I would take the braids OUT. She said it was FREE, so don't worry about it and she did not say you had to advertise for any given period. I think you advertised long enough, IN PAIN.
I don't need a relaxer my hair is NOT stressed out!

OP: Take those braids out!! You've been wearing these for the past 2 weeks??

Friend or no, admit to your friend that you were afraid to tell her that they hurt. Go ahead, you can do this. If it makes you feel better, offer to give her a little something for her trouble...if she refuses to take money, maybe there is a nice treat to offer instead.

I would take those darn braids out and as friends she will understand that you want to keep your edges. Why would you even wait two weeks and by the time she was done did you even mention that it was tight?

Also you already paid for that hairstyle. At least your edges did!

Take them out. If she's your friend she'll understand.

Take the braids out before you have no hair left.

If it were me, I would probably take the braids out and let her that I took them out because my hair was sore and not used to being braided...then I would give her a little gift to say thank you.
I am my hair and my hair is me, God gave it to me the way he wanted it to be, so I am here now sporting it, for the rest of the world to see! NiceNapLady

Take em braids out. The more you fret over it, the more sad you'll get, because you'll just worry about the possible damage all the time.
