    Default New member transitioning

    Hi All:
I'm sure I'll get the technical part of this down but I just wanted to say how great it is to have found this resource and this group.
I am transitioning for the second time and obviously repressed how difficult it was the first time or my hair was in better shape. I started by trying to moisturize, comb and twist each evening and my hair was coming out by the hand full. I read about someone who just combs with a conditioner and leaves it alone for the rest of the week. I am going to try that. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have lots of allergies so I"m making my own conditioner using the few products that are available that don't have anything I'm allergic to in them. I used coconut oil this last time. My face didn't like that at all. I'm going to try avocado oil next week. Hope that works.
Anyway, hello to everyone and have a great week!

Welcome to Nappturality! Sometimes hair comes out during the transitioning process, just try to be gentle with your hair, comb only when wet and try to keep your hair moisturized.

Hey everyone! Just joined today ;-) I absolutely love this site! Looking forward to gaining a lot more knowledge on how to care for this natural curly head of mine! I just started using products by CAROLS DAUGHTER, I love it!. I guess my question is....how often do you wash your beautiful crown? I'm washing daily...some say its good, others say its not. My hair isn't dry so I don't feel as if I'm losing a lot of moisture.....I don't know, just curious.
