I know I'm not the only one having random loc thoughts..am I?
Haven't seen one of these threads in awhile. I guess the other one was closed.
My locs are telling me they want some water. I'm about to get it in with the spray bottle and a teensy bit of olive oil.

haha i've been looking for someone to start on for awhile... I just didn't want to be the one to do it lol
I got something pretty for my babies the other day! I was gonna do my hair on thursday because I have a date on friday and I wanted it to look neat butttttt I changed my mind, if he doesn't like me the way my hair is then I don't need to be around him.
I'll probably do my hair during the weekend if I find time thou cuz it needs a wash.I'm just me, beautifully!

I retwisted my baby locs last week with Aloe vera gel, haven't washed or rinsed my hair since and you can't even tell they were retwisted smh. Still considering interlocking but it makes me nervous lol

LOL @Ms Bajan! Me too! I was waiting for it once I noticed it was missing today. In any case, I think my boyfriend is sick of hearing me go on and on about my locs now. His eyes start to glaze over.
Fluffyme: We are so >>here<< right now
mstokes2008: I use aloe vera gel too and since it's not really any hold in the gel, I lose that fresh retwisted look really quickly too but I kinda like it that way. You may want to use something with a little bit of hold if you want it to last longer.

@Caprimom -that's what I was thinking too. I am looking for something all natural with some hold. Some have suggested honey, but for some reason it just seems like an iffy idea lol

I don't like it when people compare my locs to other people they know that have them.

mstokes: I think it could work but I would go super light on the honey because who want's sticky goo in their hair lol. You're actually giving me ideas. I used to use honey all the time when I was loose but I always washed it out. Maybe 98% aloe vera gel, 2% honey? If you try it let me know how it works out for you.
chocodoll: I know right?!! Esp when they try to imply that something is wrong with yours since they don't look like so and so's.
That water and olive oil did the trick. Added some peppermint EO to the oil and my scalp was loving me!!!
Thinking about spending some real time on styling soon. Usually if it can't be done in about 5 minutes, I'm not doing it.

Did my first non salon wash yesterday and my daughter twisted and braided it up. I think I started too late in the day, and I'm pretty damp still. She did an excellent job but I really, really need to start doing this myself. That was the whole idea of this loc thing, you know

Thanks for starting the new thread!
I finally washed my hair Monday night AND retwisted. Incredibly happy about how soft my hair feels now; I 've been following the same routine fairly consistently for the past few months and I think that, along with the products/techniques I've picked up along the way, has helped get my hair to where it is now. Used to be very, very dry, so I'm very happy to have hit this point in my journey.
Can't believe it'll be 2 years in April this year.April 19, 2012 = 2 years loc'd!
