I tighten my locs every 3 months. Gives my roots a chance to grow out and thicken up. I also enjoy the break :-)

Just latched after approx 3 months - gonna stretch it out again before next latch. Am planning to let it go longer and longer but we'll see.

OP, you've answered the question I was coming to ask.
I wanted to know at what point a person is considered a "semi freeformer". That was right on time, thanks.Stand For Something, or You'll Fall For Anything

Technically a semi freeformer here. After several months ( as can't remember the last time?) I have to go in and do something cause I have found my head hurts...more like tenderheaded. Go figure.

The last time I went for a retight, my loctitian asked me if I knew my locks had gotten married. I told her I'd prefer for them to do that rather than shackin' up.

Thanks for starting this! Natural Stylist - I like the new root growth too. I just don't like those scraggly straight ends hanging out the bottom of my locs. Guess I need to get out the itty bitty crochet hook.
