Cat Licking Saltines
I just busted my finicky cat licking the salt off my saltines (my stomach is turning because this may not have been the first time) This is the cat who will not eat table food at all. Loves milk but throws it up and gets diarrhea but still "asks" for it. Does it "mean" something that the cat is licking salt off my saltines...or is this another one of his plots to annoy me.

cats are weird. i used to have a cat who ate oranges .. i have one now who will roll around in strawberries if i'd let her.
i wouldnt worry about, just be glad they aren't trying to eat you.

That's hilarious. My kitten will lick my Jergen's lotion off of my legs if I'm not paying attention.

I had a couple who like cantalope rinds. I guess I was wondering, I remember seeing something on TV about animals needing "a salt lick"...like an artificial block of salt laid out in the habitat...

I had a kitty cat and hammies (hamsters) that enjoyed salty foods and salt wheels. My guinea pig loves salt and licking the sweat off of my hands. I wonder if it's like a nutrient thing for animals, or if they just enjoy the yumminess of salt. Electrolite balance maybe?

I think my cat was digging Feline Pine (which is the best darn kitty litter I ever brought)...I didn't have money so I brought the cheapo gravel stuff and he dragged my clothes in his little box in protest.
