Did a blow out for the first time!
I am about a week and a half away from being 8 months natural and I attempted a blowout last night out of pure boredom and curiosity. I have been getting the black power fist from my friends all day lol
I love it! I probably won't blow it out again until I make a year I'm really paranoid about heat damage.

Nice but you can get the same look by doing a twistout or wetting it braiding it in fat braids and letting it dry over nite then unraveling it and picking your fro out, this will stretch your hair without the heat.

OP: For volume and less shrinkage, try avoiding gel and using LIGHTER products, as well as a t-shirt or beach towel (don't knock 'em--they're SUPER absorbent) to absorb most of the water BEFORE applying your products. Damp hair will shrink LESS than sopping wet hair and will air-dry FASTER.

Something I used to do when I wanted my hair stretched.
Any products (hair cream) would be applied to wet hair, I'd put in big braids or two corn rows. Comb through and redo the braids 4-5 times or so, (5-10 minute job) this woud lesson the tight crinkles from the braids. Also the comb though would allow the air through to speed up drying
In the morning, I'd redo them first thing, By the time I'd prepared to go out the door the rebraiding had strecthed the further.
