wow my kitteh (who's full grown and not sickly) is only about 9 pounds . i hate it when she walks on certain parts of my body (especially stomach). i can't imagine a 40 pound cat walking over me but then again i guess at 40# she's not doing too much walking

he's probably being overfed or eating the wrong foods.

my cat was a bit overweight when she got diagnosed with diabetes. i wasnt overfeeding her, but since i was feeding her the wrong type food (with too much fillers) she not only gained weight but also caught the sugar

i changed her diet to high protein and she dropped the weight (and diabetes is under control)

^When my late kitty was diagnosed with kidney failure, the vet wanted me to put her on a food that they sold. Took one look at the ingredients and half of the ingredient's list was foods that cats shouldn't be eating since they're carnivores

LOL he's a total cutie! But i can't even understand how the owner would let that poor thing get to that weight! lol @ GALAXY i know what u mean! lol my cat walks on me all the time and i can't even imagine how it would feel if she was 40lbs!
