Default POST PICTURES OF YOUR Garden part II 2012

    FROM DEE...

Ever grow a HUGE pumpkin or do you have a beautiful little succulent plant you'd like to show off? Post pictures of your house & garden or your favorite plants. Vegetable gardens, raised beds, flower garden, rockery... we all need a bit of inspiration and help sometimes.

I'll start with my rockery... taken a while ago (before the drought). I'd like to bring it back up to this level again so I keep it for encouragement.

Thanks for the new thread ModT. Here is a picture of my garden so far:

I planted some okra, cukes, more lettuce, and some birdhouse gourds. The tomatoes are getting tall so fast. I'll need to get some more cages for everything soon.

Thanks Creativity! Those yellow flowers are delphiniums. They are perennials that came back from last year after a bad case of powdery mildew.

I had to change this. My dad corrected me when I showed him my pics.

You growin' potatoes now?!? *kicks a can and a possum*Seriously, I'm considering growing sweet potatoes this year.

One of my mom's long time friends gave her some veggies Thursday...one of them is a rutabaga. I've prepared rutabagas before...anyway, I fought with that sucker and managed to cut some pieces for a beef stew I made for her and dad. Yummy. I found out today that rutabaga is a cross between a turnip and cabbage AND contains almost ALL the minerals and vitamins we need.

I brought the leftover rutabaga home with me....it's right here on my kitchen table. This YouTube lady gives tips on how to peel the danged things:
