Not necessarily a recipe hint, but it applies...

The best cast iron comes from the thrift store.
Brand new cast iron costs a grip and you have to go through the seasoning process.
At the thrift store, it cost about 80% less and it's already seasoned.
Just clean it, oil it, and maybe bake it once and your good to go.
I always drop into the salvation army, goodwill, or local thrift store to see if they have any cast iron.
I pay less than $5 for my cast iron and I have about 5 or 6 different sizes and shapes.

Oh yeah, use ripe bananas (the ones with some black spots) for banana pudding. It will have more "nanna" flavor than if you use barely green bananas.
