Workout Newbies
I don't work out. Ever. And I'm a bit intimidated about starting.
So I'm wondering if there are any other folks like me.
- Those that look at the title of all the fitness threads and realize the most they work out is from the car to the building.
- Those that know that they should work out but have convinced themselves that they have gotten by thus far, so it doesn't seem like a pressing need.
- Those that know if a monster or zombie was chasing them, they'd have to lie down and play dead because there is no way they'd make it more than 3 blocks.
If you fit any of the above criteria (or anything else) and want support in just STARTING, this thread is for you.
Who's with me? I promise I won't judge.

If you're interested in running the C25K (Couch to 5K) program is useful. I did it 2 years ago, then stopped running.
Seriously though. I'm doing it again right now and I intend to keep it up."Coal mining is harder [than writing]. Do you think miners stand around all day talking about how hard it is to mine for coal? They do not. They simply dig."

Great advice this is where I started years ago. I had read a book that said the best way is to start walking. It said work up to being able to do 3 miles in 45 minutes. For some reason I can't remember they said this was the best speed for walking and to make sure you swing your arms while you walk.

I started exercising 1 day a week about 4 weeks ago. My doctor says 4 days a week for 40 minutes. I'm going for 3 days a week at an hour-hour+. Yoga, walking and Zumba. Yoga is my priority. Next week, I'm going for all 3. Maybe I'll walk tomorrow.
